Welcome to Foodshare - where hunger is not an option!

Our registered charity has a simple goal: to help individuals and families in Maidenhead and its surrounding areas who are facing food insecurity due to a range of challenges.

We believe that everyone should have access to nutritious food regardless of their background or circumstances.

Supporting Our Community

Welcome to Foodshare, the platform previously known as Open Kitchen. Our journey began in 2011 with a heartfelt mission: to provide nourishment and support to those grappling with hunger. Our origins were humble, focusing initially on the homeless population, yet it quickly became clear that the reach of hunger extended far beyond. An early encounter with a dedicated mother sacrificing her meals for her children’s sake opened our eyes to the pervasive nature of hunger.

Initially, with the absence of widespread food bank services, our charity managed to offer support to a handful of families. Fast forward to today, and we've expanded our reach to assist around 450 individuals weekly. Despite this growth, we remain dedicated to broadening our impact, fueled by the belief that access to nutritious food is a fundamental right for all.

We invite you to delve deeper into Foodshare’s mission, evolution, and avenues for involvement through our website. Here, you'll discover the myriad ways you can contribute to our cause, whether through donations or volunteering. Every contribution, regardless of size, has the power to significantly impact the life of someone in need.

We are driven by the collective effort to combat hunger and invite you to stand with us in this noble endeavour. Your support, be it through time or donations, is a testament to the incredible difference we can make together.

Join us at Foodshare as we continue to feed hope and forge a future where no one faces the pangs of hunger alone. Together, let's nurture our community and sow the seeds of change for those who need it most.
